About Me

My name is Kristen Vieregg and I am a speech-language pathologist, literacy interventionist, and executive function coach. I am passionate about helping children reach their full potential and am dedicated to working with parents and teachers in navigating the social and academic difficulties that children with learning disabilities often face. I specialize in language, literacy, and executive function skills.

After graduating from MGH-Institute of Health Professions in 2013 with a concentration in literacy, I began working at a private practice in Westchester, New York, where I conducted comprehensive speech and language evaluations and provided cognitive-linguistic therapy to children and young adults. I subsequently worked as a speech-language pathologist in several New York City private schools for students with language-based learning disabilities and significant learning needs.

Over the course of my career, I have been trained in The Writing Revolution, and Preventing Academic Failure (PAF), and have implemented a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Story Grammar Markers, Get Ready, Do, Done, and Social Thinking.

More recently, I transitioned into an administrative role, serving as the Speech-Language Department Chair at a private school in New York. Within this role, I developed and modified writing curricula for lower-school grade bands and worked with teachers and speech-language pathologists to ensure effective instruction. I provided teachers and specialists with a unique linguistic outlook on academic tasks, and conducted and supervised lower-school language screenings and remediation.

I have also presented at several conferences and workshops and specialize in delivering information about language and executive function skills to both educators and parents. My presentations have focused on comprehensive language evaluations, integrating language learning in classrooms, vocabulary and reading comprehension interventions, intentional collaboration, and executive function skills and strategies.

I am an ASHA, New York State, North Carolina State, and Florida State certified Speech-Language Pathologist, as well as a certified Structured Literacy/Dyslexia Interventionist.
